About Me

I first fell in love with books when I was a little girl in the first grade and I read a very popular children’s book. I remember creating a bigger world than what was written and loved it! But my love for storytelling started when I could start talking. I remember my parent’s friends coming over asking for a story, I can barely remember what they were about, but they were obviously entertaining and in high demand (winks!).

In 2010 my husband bought me an e-reader and I fell in love with so many stories, all from indie authors and I thought I could do this. So I told a close friend and she encouraged me to go for it! From that point on it's been a great journey. I've gotten so excited I've done a little wiggle dance right in public, I've cried my eyes out when work was lost and finally I'm putting my work out there for readers to love or hate or at the very least to like! I feel a mixture of excitement, pride and trepidation!

At the moment I don't have a genre I'd like to stay in, I basically write what my imagination creates. If I'm not getting these stories out onto electronic paper I'm lost in a good book or spending time with family and friends.

Some Quick Fun Facts About Me:
1. I'm an over-user of the smiley faces :) ;) o_O -_- :P and the exclamation mark!

2. I always listen to music when I'm writing and it's always a strange mix ranging from ballads, country music, pop, rock (I did not do that on purpose but I do love Pop Rocks too!), electronica, basically if it's a great song and it inspires me it's going on the playlist

3. When I write steamy scenes I always write a sentence then hide my face behind my hands like I've just done something bad! (I do the same when I read the steamy scenes in a book)
It's not because I'm a prude when it comes that subject, I'm quite the opposite throwing out "That's what she said" about 20 times a day (trust me I can find the dirty in just about anything said). I joke that sometimes my thoughts are that of a 14 year old boy and if heaven were listening in I'd be their HBO show! But those are just my thoughts that the angels and I are privy to, so when I put it in a book I can't help feeling a little shy and guilty!
no not this angel ;)

4. I'm a crier. If I'm happy I'll probably cry tears of joy, if I'm angry I'll probably cry tears of frustration and of course when I'm sad I cry fat, elephant tears! Commercials, movies, TV shows and good books or stories can set me off.

5. I absolutely love animals. I have a cat and a dog and I would love to have more, but the hubby refuses...at least until I convince him to buy a farm ;)

6. I am embarrassingly afraid of spiders! I'm that girl that jumps and screams then runs away when I see one! Thank God for my strong, manly husband who saves me every time ;)

7. I keep all my fortunes from a fortune cookie (thank God they're small sheets of paper or storing them could become tricky!)

8. I literally swoon and get all giddy when I talk about some of my favorite male characters. If I'm sitting down I'll kick one foot out, press my hands to my chest and gush about him. Mr. Darcy really brings this out of me, but honestly what woman isn't affected by: "In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you."

I had to include this because it made me LOL

9. I don't write my characters based on anyone in my life, but I do add some characteristics of myself to my characters. For example Mary (Unexpectedly Out of Focus) is quite the crier sometimes!

10. I love photography. I often do little photo shoots for my family and friends

11. I quote movies a lot and sometimes I talk in a southern or British accent just because, I know I'm quirky (but not weird). "Quirky and weird are two very different things." -Runaway Bride ;)
